At Companion Animal Hospital Lake Zurich, we offer in-house lab testing and digital radiography (X-ray) to uncover important information about your pet’s health. Furthermore, these tools allow us to screen healthy pets and properly diagnose sick pets.

TIMELY IN-HOUSE LAB TESTING

Pets with serious illnesses or injuries benefit the most from our in-house laboratory, which allows us to test blood, urine, and fecal matter with our own equipment. Obtaining results in under an hour right here in our hospital saves time and enables us to treat our patients more quickly.

For our healthy patients, we often recommend yearly testing to screen for parasites and ensure that your pet’s organs are functioning the way they should be. In these cases, we typically send blood and fecal samples to an outside lab for a complete analysis.

The most important diseases we screen patients for include:

DIGITAL X-RAYS FOR CATS AND DOGS

Lab testing provides us with numbers and values to help us see what’s going on inside your pet. Digital X-ray gives us clear, high-contrast images of your pet’s skeletal system and can show us conditions such as bone fractures, arthritis, limb deformities, cysts and tumors, and more.

Some of the most important benefits that digital X-ray offers include:

• Very little preparation time, as digital X-ray does not use film
• Better-quality images that show us more detail
• Less time needed to position and handle your pet, making the procedure less stressful for them
