Pet emergencies are unexpected and scary, but Companion Animal Hospital Lake Zurich is here to help you and your pet. If you even suspect that your pet might be having an emergency, don’t hesitate to call us at (847) 438-3750. Our team can help you determine if the situation warrants urgent care and make sure your pet gets the care they need. Your pet could be having an emergency if they are showing any of the following signs:

  • Labored breathing and/or heavy panting
  • Prolonged diarrhea or vomiting
  • No drinking or eating
  • Unable to stand or walk
  • Heatstroke or elevated temperature
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Lethargy
  • Pale or white gums
  • Seizures
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Broken bones (or possible broken bones)
  • Bite and/or puncture wounds
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Choking
  • Unconsciousness

In the event that our vet is not available to provide immediate care, we will provide you with options to ensure that your pet is seen as soon as possible by an emergency veterinarian.
